[PRESS RELEASE]

Additional workshops planned as part of the launch of the Call for Projects for Tunisian entrepreneurs and Tunisian investors living abroad (TRE)

Tunis, February 23, 2024

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, announces the launch of the Call for Projects for the creation of joint investment projects between entrepreneurs with project ideas in Tunisia and Tunisians residing abroad (TRE), as part of phase 2 of the "Mobi-TRE" project, "Migration as a resource: mobilizing the Tunisian diaspora and stabilizing disadvantaged communities in Tunisia". The project is implemented by IOM, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, and relevant Tunisian institutional partners at national and regional levels, and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

The aim of the Mobi-TRE project, in its 'HajtiBik' component, is to encourage innovative initiatives that contribute to Tunisia's economic development in regions with high migration potential, create sustainable jobs and strengthen the link between migration and development.

This Call for Proposals focuses on promoting the effective realization of a Matching between a Tunisian entrepreneur and a Tunisian investor residing abroad (TRE). It aims to create sustainable jobs, reduce poverty and promote the link between migration and development. It is open to Tunisian entrepreneurs in Tunisia and Tunisians living abroad (in Côte d'Ivoire, France, Germany, Italy and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only).

Candidates are invited to submit their applications from the date of publication of this press release until March 31, 2024 via the following link, which includes the registration form and terms of reference (also available on the Moubader.tn platform). For further information, please consult the project guidelines.

Due to the success of the previous workshops, additional workshops dedicated to the presentation of the Mobi-TRE Phase 2 project and the launch of the Call for Projects are organized according to the following schedule:

  • Four workshops between February 26 and February 29, 2024, in regional development zones (ZDR) for young entrepreneurs with project ideas in Tunisia and Tunisians living abroad (TRE) present in Tunisia: Kébili (February 26), Gafsa (February 27), Kasserine (February 28) and Mahdia (February 29, 2024). These workshops will include an interactive Q&A session and a B2B (Business to Business) session, encouraging collaboration between participants.
